Kara Chick

Kara Chick is the paralegal at Hefferon Law, PLLC in Charlotte, NC — and an integral part of every client's experience. With a unique background in both family law and accounting, she provides expert support to clients navigating divorce, separation, and related financial matters, bringing clarity to some of the most complicated aspects of a case. 

Kara began working in a law firm setting in 2019 and was quickly promoted to family law paralegal. Since then, she has developed extensive experience handling cases from start to finish — assisting clients with financial disclosures, court affidavits, and asset division across Charlotte and Mecklenburg County. Before transitioning into law, Kara built her career in accounting, gaining expertise in financial reporting, bank reconciliations, and budgeting — skills that give Hefferon Law clients a distinct advantage in property division and support cases. 

She has a passion for helping clients navigate the financial side of their cases while also offering support and compassion during an often difficult and emotional process. Known for her kindness, patience, and approachable nature, Kara makes clients feel comfortable and supported while guiding them through each step of their case.

Originally from various parts of the country, Kara chose to make North Carolina her home in 2015. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her daughter, her blended family, her pets, reading, and traveling.
